I have heard that our current mess was caused by the deregulation of the financial industry. But I can not find the current laws or acts which are regarded as "deregulation". The only thing that has not been removed, is rightly conceded that credit default swaps, credit will be regulated by the CFTC. But it was only a clarification, but as something new. So can anyone tell me exactly which laws and acts of deregulation caused the problem? How?
